Furthermore, many people believe that the mainstream media's main objective (from their point of view) is to inform us, when it's not......but they're not going to tell you that. In fact the media will tell you very little that is of much importance and if you really want to find out what's going on you're going to have to look somehwre else.....but they're not going to tell you that either. Why would they? It's certainly not in their best interest to have you looking elsewhere for news and information; that's THIER job afterall.

Sadly, though, in reality, their job is not so much to inform you as it is to mold you; it's not their objective to tell you everything you ought to know, rather it's to tell you what they think you should know or what they want you to know. In this sense they selfishly horde the information, sift through it and filter out the truly informative bits and leave you with nothing but empty filler and trivia, squeezed in between sports and weather reports. That's what is so insidious about what they're doing: they know what they're doing......but they're not going to tell you that. All they care about is that you keep coming back....tuning in.....and most importantly: trusting them as the only worthwhile source of news and information.

Few know, but many do not know, that if you really want to find out what's going on you need to surf the information (and sometimes dis-information) highway--the 'net. Once exposed to the vast abundance of information and the wealth of knowledge it offers, no one in their right mind would ever go back to mainstream news. Try this out for yourself (if you haven't already): use the internet as your only source of information for one week, but make sure you avoid the same media's sites (whatreallyhappened.com is a godd place to start) and then, after that week, go back to your tv and turn on the evening news. Better yet, turn on FoxNews or MSNBC. You will see what a total fucking joke these "news" outlets are. They are utterly worthless, except for their somewhat successful efforts to mis-inform people, which is what their objective really is.

Now, I know what some of you are thinking: you make this sound like some sort of conspiracy. Well, I hate that word, but for lack of a better one, it is. The mainstream media is not so much a source of news as much as it is a source of propaganda. News companies are like PR firms. Their job is to mold public opinion in one way or another. Far from unbiased, they selectively report what goes on and usually from certain perspective. It's not so suprising; they have money to make. Some things appear to be more profitable than others are, and so they gravitate towards the sensational, rather than the truly news-worthy. They don't care if you're smarter or better informed after watching their broadcast (although they'll boast that you are). Their main concern is that you got the message; their message, and that you fall in line.

It's a scam, and they know it.......but they're not going to tell you that.

Making A Difference

I hear you, and I feel your pain. I get so frustrated sometimes and I wonder if there's anyone else who feels the way I do. I look around at my friends and see that they're good people, but I wonder if they feel the way I do. Are they as fed up as I am? Does it all seem crazy to them too? Or is it just me? Did anyone else hear what Bush just said? Do they take any of this seriously? I know they mean well and have good intentions. They also have other things to worry about. We all have pretty busy lives it seems. And believe me, I would much rather be doing something else than dealing with this bullshit, but it's right there in my face and it not going away. Not only that--it's getting worse. I don't think enough people realize that. "Where does it stop?".... "When will you act?" I wonder. "What will it take?" Does it have to be knocking on your door before you do something?

Should I just look on the bright side of it? It's not so bad, right? I mean, what is Bush and his evil team of bastards doing to ME personally? Is anything different about MY life? I go about my daily life unimpeded, so do most people. At the same time people are complaining all the time about our lack of freedoms and the steady loss of those freedoms. In many ways I AM free.....which is ironic, because in a very real way we ARE NOT free....sometimes not even free to say what we want. The secret police aren't banging on MY door right now....maybe someone else, but not ME....and that's what counts, right? Maybe it's not so bad after all. What are all those other people complaining about? Aren't they living in one of the most prosperous nations in the world? Shouldn't they feel rather fortunate to have been born where they were? Is it ungrateful to think otherwise? Am I really just looking for the splinter in someone else's eye while overlooking the enormous thorny branch stuck in my own eye? Isn't complaining a negative or defeatist way of looking at things?

I see other people who are ignorant or unconcerned with these matters and they seem happier...like there's just that much less weight on their shoulders. I think ignorance truly is bliss.....for a while. I talk to people around me--in plain terms--about our government and what it's doing to us and to others, and I notice that most don't really care. More than that, they don't really know much about what's going on. Again, they seem to be mostly unconcerned....and it suits them just fine. Not knowing seems to be better in almost every way. If you don't know what's being done to you, then you're not likely to object or cause a fuss. It reminds me of the Matrix. Maybe that's what they're going for--the people doing this to us, that is. Maybe I should just mind my own business and focus on my job and my family and what's on tv tonight. Maybe none of this is my business. That's why we have elected officials, right? To think about al of this stuff for us. That's what they're there for. They wouldn't do us wrong would they? Why? We put them there, right? They work for US, right? We can always boot them out of office if we don't like it. They would tell us if we had something to worry about, right? Why wouldn't they? They know what's best don't they? Isn't that why we put them there? These are the things that go through my mind sometimes, and, I'll admit, I revisit my thoughts and opinions all the time to see if I still believe what I used to. Sometimes I wonder who's right and who's wrong. Am I above being tricked or fooled by someone? If there is something bad going on, maybe it's better not to know, because, what am I going to do about it anyway? What can I do? I'm just one person.

But I don't have the luxury they do: of not knowing what lurks beyond the veil of utter nothingness that they know. I DO know. I see. I hear and I experience reality. And what I see is our country falling apart before my eyes. I see greed and the hunger for more and a lackluster will to do unyeilding evil to obtain it. I see lies and corruption that dishonor our once-noble establishment and swindle our loyal citizens out of their American dream. And I see it going on every damn day!
It's the taking and the lying that get to me the most. Why must they always lie to us? Why must they always keep taking? It's insatiable it seems. Why do this? Why like THIS? Who does this benefit? Then I remember who it benefits. People are becoming rich while others are made to suffer and be poor. Most everything that goes on in this country is going on because it makes somebody some money. Even the misery--the misery makes people rich. It just depends what side of the equation you're on. War and devestation are making somebody a profit. Taking is profitable. It's that same old thug mentality: don't buy it, take it. Don't ask if can do it, just do it. Taking is easier. That's why it happens. That's why we're in the situation we're in.
So what do you do about it?
That is the question.

I find myself wanting to do something about it, but not knowing what would be the best use of my time and energy. Not to be pessimistic, but protests get us almost nowhere. I saw millions of people take to the streets worldwide and what did that change? We still have that bastard and his whole crooked cabal running our lives, taking the future of our country down the drain. Writing letters to doesn't always seems to do much either. I spend so much time reading and writing and educating myself in order to make a difference, but what does it all mean? Sure, I might get a few responses, but how serious are these people about what they're saying? Are they willing to put their money where their mouth is? Could they be counted on to take action? What about when the chips are down, will they fold? I don't mean to be rude, but how do I know the people responding aren't just full of talk. Sitting around bitching and moaning ceratinly doesn't get me anywhere. Talk is cheap. Some say the best way to change it is from within. So, what does that mean? I need to move to Washington DC? Run for office? I don't think that's a very realistic way to go. But what then? it seems like organizing people would be a good way to go, but what can I do by myself? I'm only one person, and I have a hard time changing the mind of anyone around me. What could I possibly do to affect any of this? If there really is some gigantic well-funded effort to create a New World Order, what could I do to stop it? I'm only one person.

Then I remember that Ghandi was just one person, Martin Luther King Jr. was one person, Malcolm Shabazz was only one person, John Lennon, Bob Marley, Che Gueverra, Caesar Chavez, Moses and Jesus were each just one person. I, too, am just one person, but one person who would give their life to see all of this bullshit go away. Look at what each of these individuals was able to do on their own. Each of them has had an amazing impact on the lives around them. Maybe you can too. Maybe you are just as amazing when you put your mind and heart and soul into it. How do you know unless you try? I'm sure most--if not all--of these people never knew what they could do until they tried. How will you ever know what you could accomplish if you don't try? Instead of wondering, why not do? Instead of talking about it, why not do it? Take it one step further and get involved. Don't just talk about it, be about it. Something you should remember is that it isn't just about you, it's about all of us. If not for yourself then do it for those you love; do it for your friends and family; do it for those who cannot do it for themselves. Your future, and the future of those yet to come, depends on it.

Thank you for your time.

What Will It Take?

Okay folks, enough is enough! What will it take to unseat Bush and his entire crooked cabal? Over the last five years we've seen scandal after scandal after scandal, and somehow, Bush and his cronies are still in power, still running the show, still driving our country, it's economy and it's future into the groud. It's hard for me to believe that this isn't being done by design; how could they not know what they're doing?
Let's take a little look back at all of the scandals, shall we?

1) The first one I can remember was the reoccurring issue of Bush's desertion from the Texas Air National Guard. From all the documents that are available (and the strange fact that many have been destroyed for some reason) it's obvious that he deserted. I know people are still quibbling over this the same way they're quibbling over this recent Qu'ran flushing incident. Just like the recent Qu'ran scandal, this issue ended with a media appology. It's not the biggest of all scandal, but it lends some insight to his character. On top of that, he still has the nerve to make reference to his time "as a pilot". What?

2) The next one would be the election of 2000 itself. Now, if anyone with a working brain and any sort of conscience can look at that situation and say it was all fair and square, then we're in trouble. Not to be rude, but that fiasco in Florida was the definition of an electoral farce. Again, there was ample documentation of massive fraud and manipulation, and so many documentaries made about it, but yet, somehow he still was allowed to become president. And the mainstream media did it's part to down-play any wrong-doing.

3) Then there was the whole energy crisis scandal. It had more to do with Cheney than Bush but so what? My arguments are against the entire administration, not just Bush. Even though the courts decided to protect Cheney's secrecy with his Energy Task Force, it was later revealed that Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan and the entire Caspian Sea region were core elements of it. Why would maps and charts and graphs of the Middle East be part of an American Energy Task Force? Then, oddly enough we end up going to war against both Iraq and Afghanistan, with a war with Iran just around the corner. Are we supposed to believe that this is just a coincidence? Let's not forget the deregulation that took place that caused hundreds of thousands of people to be ripped-off by skyrocketing energy bills, leaving several states limping through their next several annual budgets. On these issues the media was suspiciously silent.

4) Then there was 9-11; probably the mother of all scandals, since it was used to implement Team Bush's war plans in the Middle East as well as a domestic crack down on our civil liberties. I realize that there still are some people who would swear that neither Bush or Cheney, or anyone else in our government had anything to do with 9-11, but that's naive. There's not eough time or room to go into it in detail here, but the evidence is staggering, yet plain and simple enough for a lay-person to understand for the most part. Most of it implicates several people within the Bush administration, but is probably most damaging to Dick Cheney, who gave NORAD the order for the defensive fighters to stand-down. There's no proof of any arabs on any planes, nor the identities of any of the "hijackers", but that did stop us from invading Afghanistan and Iraq--blaming the latter for being involved, then retracting that part afterwards. The official story of 9-11 is both ridiculous and laughable, yet amazingly the mainstream media has gone along with every scripted bit of it.

5) There was the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. Although a couple of soldiers were sacrificed over this ordeal, their orders and permission came from the top--meaning Donald Rumsfeld (if not Bush himself), yet no one in the administration has been held accountable. Bush even had his personal lawyer, now AG Gonzales look into it. Every government official that has commented on the issue has said, in no vague terms, that torture and the like are not allowed. WHATEVER!!!! Our government tortures people all the time! They've been doing that for years! They also send them to other places to be tortured, but it's the type of thing that the US insists only goes on in other countries. If you believe that I've got an island to sell you. And the mainstream media? Just as eager as the government to sacrifice a few people and move on.

6) There was the forged documents about the "yellow cake" from Niger that Bush mentioned in his State of the Union address one year--even after several intelligence agencies told him it was fake. This was used to help bolster Bush's pathetic argument for invading Iraq. While it's true that Bush didn't forge the documents himself, he was aware that they were fake and still portrayed them as real. All sorts of people in his administration made excuses and feigned appologetic statements, but they never once said, "You're right! We should get to the bottom of this!", and neither did the mainnstream media.

7) Then there was the outing of undercover CIA operative, Valerie Plame, who was sacrificed because her husband, Ambassador Joseph Wilson, exposed the government's lie about the now infamous "yellow cake" from Niger, supposedly headed to Iraq, but which never really exsisted. This one even involved members of the press, like Robert Novak, who were never forced to reveal their sources, and never appoligized for being an accomplice to a crime. It's a crime to expose an under-cover government operative.

8) There was the invasion of Iraq, which like it or not, IS A WAR CRIME. Look it up. It was unauthorized use of miltary force on a sovereign nation, all based on lies and pathetic fabrications. You can't get much more wrong than that. It would be a totally different thing if the case for war was real and legitimate, but it WASN'T. In spite of all the millions of protests around the world, TeamBush forged galliantly ahead as if they were truly delivering us from evil, knowing all the while that their war was based on lies. The war in Iraq has turned out to be everything those opposed to it said it would be, and the opposite of what TeamBush and the media said it would be. Bush claimed "Mission Accomplished" over a year ago, yet the situation continues to deteriorate on a daily basis. To this day, I haven't seen a member of his administration, or a single commentary on any major network news say anything about it being a mistake.

9) Then there was the farce now commenly referred to as the "re-election". He was never elected in the first place people! And he sure as hell wasn't RE-elected. The anomalies and abnormalitites of the 2004 election are enough to have most any country in the world rise up against their corrupt government........but not here in the USA, where people are to busy, gullible and apathetic to do anything about it. How can we blame ourselves? The people we look to for news and information have told us, every step of the way, that everything is a-okay. No problems anywhere, only sour grapes from the losers, simply because they lost. The most common message was "forget about it and move on".

10) More recentlly we had the UN Oil-for-Food scandal that totally backfired on the US and TeamBush. It was nothing more than a ploy to attempt to remove Kofi Annan from the UN, by accusing him of making money from illegal Iraqi oil sales, because he wouldn't play ball. In the process British MP Galloway was brought before a Congressional Sub-Committee, ostensibly to rake him over the coals about his involvement. The only problem was that Mr. Galloway blew the whistle on TeamBush big time! If you haven't seen any footage of it you should. It's priceless. He even brought up the fact that the weapons Saddam Hussein had were supplied by the US. Ouch! He also mentioned what is being referred to as the "Downing Street Memo" which was the documentation of Bush and Blair's agreement to invade Iraq and to "fix the intelligence" around their current policy. Once again, the mainstream media is suspiciously silent. If they aren't there to stand up for the public, keeping us informed, telling the truth when our elected officials won't, then what are they good for?

11) The "Downing Street Memo" which, as I just stated, was the documentation of a meeting between members of the British government about the Iraq war and how to pull it off despite the uphill battle to do so. Simply put, the conclusion reached was that they would lie. The lesson seems to be: if you can't get it done honestly, then just lie to everybody about it until you get your way. It's what Rep. Conyers has dubbed "the smoking bullet in the smoking gun". Where was the media on this one? Where was FoxNews on that one? What about CNN? Or your local news? Most hardly mentioned it, and when they did, they certainly didn't make it sound like a big deal. It wasn't front page news. Why not? Here was the best evidence so far that our President, and his corhorts, misled the rest of Congress and the entire country, leading us all head-long down a path to yet another unnecessary war.

The amazing thing is that any one of these things would be enough to take down the Bush government, but THEY HAVEN'T. Almost no one in Congress is willing to make the slightest noise about it!!!!!
Remember Tricky Dick Nixon? He was going to be impeached over lying about a politically motivated break-in, but no one was hurt.
Remember Slick Willy Clinton? He faced impeachment over lying about an affair, but again no one was hurt.
Both of those pale in comparison to what Bush and his crooked friends have done, and YES thousands of people have been hurt and KILLED!!!!!!! What about that?!?!?!?

I've just read that Senator Kerry plans to initiate the impeachment process on Monday, but I'm not going to hold my breath--I remember how he handled the election. He rolled over like a dog taught to do so. Before I get to excited about it, I'm going to wait and see what happens. For all I know this could be another Warren Commisson, or 9-11 Commission--a total whitewash. In the end Bush could actually be made to look even better, given him even more room to say the type of things he did after the 2004 election was stolen, "I'm here because the people's mandate." And since the mainstream media has all but ignored the Downing Street Memo, I'm curious about how they'll handle this impeachment that Kerry talks about.

You know, if we--as a country--can't see what is going on and do something about it, then not we're not only are stupid and pathetic, we're totally screwed........and we deserve it. It seems like everyone is waiting for someone else to do it, but they never make the connection that "some one else" is you and me. If not us, then who? if not now, then when? What will it take? These people need to be stopped and they WON'T stop intil WE MAKE THEM STOP. Even after they're out of the government they'll still be plotting and planning for the next time they get the chance to make a move unless we put them in jail and throw away the key. What do you think?
